We are a silicon design house focused on the development of Powerline Applications Specific Standard Products (ASSP).
We have developed the technology that converts the existing electricity grid and domestic power lines into a high-speed communications network.

DS2 PLC technology opens up the power of the electricity networks to high-speed data services. Our proprietary technology can be adapted for use in the access or LAN segments of the PLC market. This is how the network topology functions:

A high-speed modem (Head End), containing the DS2 chipset, is installed in the MV/LV transformer
Each transformer contains either, i) an Internet router or, ii) an ATM concentrator, enabling the link with a large broadband network via either an Internet-boundary router or an ATM switch.
A telephone operator (PTT) supplies the Broadband network.
Each customer site requires a powerline modem (Customer Premises Equipment or CPE), again containing the DS2 chipset.
The use of a gateway between the powerline modem and a LAN at the customer premises enables several users to connect and share the high-speed connection, an option that is especially useful for SOHOs (Small Offices Home Offices).
The broadband Powerline Access chipset developed at DS2 offers XDSL-like performance to subscribers.
